Calibration for Electromagnetic Flow Meter Transmitter Settings
Before an electromagnetic flow meter is delivered, the transmitter needs to be configured according to the application and sensor specifications.
The calibration process is therefore not only about checking the measured flow. It also involves verifying that the transmitter settings correctly correspond to the sensor and the customer's application requirements.
Matching the Transmitter with the Sensor
The transmitter is configured according to the corresponding electromagnetic flow sensor.
Key parameters may include:
Sensor diameter
Flow meter measuring range
Flow direction
Electrode configuration
Liner information
Flow unit
Totalizer unit
Output configuration
Correct parameter matching ensures that the transmitter can properly process the signal received from the sensor.
Setting the Measuring Range
The required flow range is entered into the transmitter according to the technical specification.
For example, the engineer may configure:
Flow Unit: m³/h Measuring Range: Customer specified Display: Instantaneous Flow + Total Flow Output: 4–20 mA / Pulse / RS485
The actual configuration depends on the customer's project requirements.
